The meaning of our names is intimately connected with our identity and, subsequently, our Kingdom purpose. We see this repeatedly in the Bible, down to the names of a lineage of men in the Old Testament serving as a prophecy of the birth of Jesus. When our Abba calls us by name, He is calling out the identity and Kingdom purpose He wove into our being. He is calling us as He sees us.

The enemy works to distort what is good and Holy. When he tries to convince you that you are not as God calls you, my heart’s cry is that you will declare the Truth Jesus named you with over yourself. You were created with a unique and glorious purpose, and He who started that work will see it through.
